Rain, Rain, Rain

It rained all day yesterday, all night, and all day today. The schools both closed because of the water. It doesn’t take much for it to get over the roads. Don, Enesto and Galo have gone to August Pine Ridge to put up the doors, yesterday they put in the two new windows. The new fence is up and the new gate. The church is beginning to look like a church. People are beginning to come back. The Bible Study is doing well I still have 10 adults and there children. Victor decided he would start one and had 11 Sunday evening most of them young men. We are pleased at the progress in the church. I plan on going tomorrow if water is not over the roads. I only drive when I can see the roads. Mearella fixed dumplings for us for lunch. They were great on this rainy day.
We had Mrs. Gloria and Jimmy over for lunch on Thursday and had a great time with them. Later I had the ladies meeting here for San Lazaro. Saturday we had a fish fry. We had the fish sent from the states. We had Sandago and Cascas , Ernestos Family and Galos Family . Everyone seemed to have a good time. After they left we got ready and went to Progresso. Don dedicated two little girls. It was a beautiful service the children were dressed in formals and there were new curtains and flowers. Everything looked beautiful. They also fixed a meal for everyone. It was a very special night. Bro. Victor has been going on Thursday nights to help them out. Last week Helliberto Santos went they want him back this Thursday. And he is willing to come. This may be the answer to prayer for a new preacher!! Who knows? Pray, Pray, Pray there are a lot of young men at Guinea Grass that the Lord could use in this Spanish area to preach the Gospel.
Well today is a new day in the middle of writing the blog the house filled up with people. Then the lights went out they didn’t come on until the middle of the night. This morning the sun is shining and it is a beautiful new day. Don left this morning at 5:45 for Belmopan with Bro Victor to get his work permit. It has been completed. Ernesto and Galo will go to August Pine Ridge and work some more on the church. Mereilla and myself will go to August Pine Ridge this afternoon and do the Bible Study. Tonight we will go back to August Pine Ridge. I hope to meet with some more ladies this afternoon that will start coming to the regular church service. Continue to pray for our family and us.

A New Year

Starting the New Year

Sorry it has been a little too long in posting. We had a great New Year and have not stopped since. Don doesn’t know how to rest. There is so much to do. Don has been working on the August Pine Ridge Church. We now have lights that surround the church. There were about 50 young men their New Years night. They didn’t bother anyone but I will feel better if I can see there faces.. It really did help to have the lights shining on them. Some have come in to the service and others still come to watch, others have chosen to leave. We have the windows and doors ready to install. That will help the looks a lot. I started a Bible Study there Wednesday afternoon. Merealla went with me to translate for me. There were 10 adults that came and several children. I am pleased with how it turned out. I will start going on Wednesdays as long as they will come.
We are still going to Progresso on Saturdays and it is doing well. We still need a preacher. Don is still preaching on Saturdays and Victor has started going over their on Thursday nights. A van full goes with us to support the church.
San Lazaro is doing real well even though the pastor resigned. There were 27 at prayer meeting Wednesday night. On Sunday night their was a church filled to the brim. Don helps them out when he can. They will have youth group tonight. They want me to help. I am not sure if I will or not. I am still doing the Purpose Driven Life on Thursday.
We went to Guinea Grass Wednesday night there was a church full of people. They have a band and that attracts a lot of young people. It is always good to see them. It feels like going home. They are always glad to see us.
We were proud to have a group of student teachers from South Caroline here with us this week. They came in last Thursday. Five of them stayed with us the rest stayed at Sand Hill. They were a great blessing to the school and to us. They fell in love with the people here. San Lazaro welcomed them in the church. And The ladies cooked Belizean food for them. They left yesterday for a new area. Hope they will come again sometime next year.
Don has gone to Belize City to take care of things in that area. He will be back soon. Continue to pray for us and our familys
.
