San Lazaro

Water System

If you have stayed at San Lazaro at night you will be proud of the new water system that has been put in. As you know we didn’t have water at night and no water pressure. The tank leaked so bad they had to turn off the power at night. The new tank will hold 20 thousand gallons Twice as much as the old one and the motor will be more that twice as large. There has been a water meter installed in the houses. It will however be a burden for some to pay. The schools and the churches are not supposed to have a water bill in the Spanish area we will see how that works out. They had a big celebration to bless the start of the water system. There were 1500 tamales and cokes or all the people. They had a large tent for all the people they came from a number of villages to be a part. One little girl of 4 years sang the National Anthem by herself with no music and only a mike she did an amazing job! Don was asked to pray to start it off. The schools preformed and the politics played their part on all they were going to do for the country. If they really did what they said it would be amazing. It was a good day however for all.

The PUP also donated two new computers to the school this past week. They had the camera ready for the event. It was a great help to the school. The government of this country is in trouble and is trying hard to make everyone happy so they wont be run out of office on 2008. So they are making all kinds of promises to the people. So let them give us anything they want is the way I see it.

Donovan and his brother came up and we all went to August Pine Ridge last night. He has been good to check on the churches every month Bill was there to play and sing. A man that is working with us also went his Mother died this week and her last request was that her son serves the Lord. Her other two sons were murdered because of there lifestyle. He went with us last night and also an older man that was a pastor here in the past. Along with Victor’s family and others we had a good service. They left about 11 o’clock last night we had a good night of fellowship we hated to see it end.

The rain has finally stopped and the sun is shining. The paper said this week that the cane industry has lost 8 millions dollars so far this year because of rain and bad roads. They can’t get it out of the fields. Also they have lost a lot of beans and rice because of the rot. It will be a hard year here for the cane farmers and the workers. . Maybe the weather will stay hot and dry for a while now. The cane harvest will end when it start raining it started in May last year instead of June so they lost a month even last year.

Well I guess I will finish up for the day. The electricity went out and has been off several hours. I am glad it is on now. Well continue to pray for us. It is about a hundred degrees today! I guess winter is over here. It is cool at night however. God Bless

Baby Henridquez

August Pine Ridge baby dedication

Bro. Victors little granddaughter was dedicated to the Lord on Sunday night of Jan 28. It was a very nice ceremony. Bro Bill acted as interpreter for Bro Don as he did the service. There was a good attendance as mother and father stood before the Lord. Afterward they served rice and beans along with stewed chicken. What a treat. It was to be in the house of the Lord.
Sunday afternoon we met with some of the youth and did a Bible Study and sang some song. It was a good evening.
The men are still working on the bathrooms and they will be finished soon. Leadership classes will start again tomorrow. We will carry those from the Spanish area that will go with us.
The Lady that has been helping me is in the kitchen making fresh yeast Bread. We will eat it as soon as it gets out of the oven with coffee and butter. It usually attracts a crowd!!
The rain has stopped for now and the men have mowed all day. Maybe the cane cutters will be able to get their cane out now. I hope so.
Continue to pray for us our ministry will be fruitful. God Bless
