New Ladies & Mens Group at San Lazaro

August 22

New Womens and Mens Group started

San Lazaro started a new womens group on Thursday. We will go through the book The Purpose Driven Life. I will help by teaching the book . Marieila will lead the group. The men also have started a new mens group on Saturday nights. I know it will be a great help to the church.

We carried about 35-40 from San Lazaro to Guinna Grass for a revival on Friday night we carried two vans. They had a large crowd their . The people could't get into the church their were so many people.

We have new tile in the schools computor room. It really looks pretty. It is green with blue grout. Looks great . They are working on black boards today. They are working hard getting ready for Sunday. it will be a great day in San Lazaro and the school. It looks great. Everyone could be proud of it.

It rained here hard all night Saturday night. Sunday morning all the creeks were flooded. We decided to go to August Pine Ridge anyway. Manuel needs our support now as he trys to get things started in the church. He is a man of prayer and I know the Lord will Bless him and his ministry. Their was water over the road in a few places. When we got to the bridge.Everything was under water you could't even tell where the bridge was. Some men came and one waded through it . It was up on his thigh ! We decided not to pass for fear of getting water in the motor! One did pass when it got over his licence plate he backed up turned around and backed through the water! Two young men stood on the edge of the bridge so people would know where the edge was as their is no railing on it. We were afraid we would float away as the current was bad in places. Their were several cars and trucks behind us none dared to pass through. We met some interesting people as we waited after a hour the water droped a few inches. A van decided to pass through Don said if he made it we would go the Rodeo was higher then their van. He made it and we followed ,the water was up almost to the doors! We arrived at the church a hour late. They were still their as some of the children where coloring and glittering things. Manuel said a old man wanted to speek to the Missionary he was a long time member of the Methodist Church. It turned out to be a good visit. He showed Don his Bible It was from the 70's written in it were Rev Carlos and Eva Dawson!! We have really learned to appreciate them and the sacerfice they have made to this field. When you see them let them know we are seeing results that have endured the passing of time. He said they had also given him one in the 60's He said he would be a Methodist until he dies and will care about the church their. His son came in a younger man and said he had a list of all the member that use to be their and would help Manuel visit them!! His son was their last night. What A blessing . He is a key man in the VIlliage and is willing to help. Praise the Lord.!!The Old man and his wife are two old to walk the half mile. Don said he would't make it a habit but would carry them to church next Sunday to be in the house of the Lord one more time. His name is Gregoiro Ramos and his son name is Geigo Ramos.

Continue to Pray for us and our family as we seek to do the Lords will for our lives.

August Pine Ridge & The New Church

August 15th
The Church at August Pine Ridge
Things are busy as usual here. Dennis and Debbie Murphree have been here for the last week. We have been helping Bro.Manwell get started on the new Church at August Pine Ridge .Don had the lot Bushhoged . There are three acres. The rest was done by machetti . We have been over their several days trying to help also Guinna Grass men helped and others.. The fence is now torn down and the neighbors can cross their. The inside of the house has been painted PINK and I didn't choose it either. They have moved in Manwell has quit his job so he can spend his time growing the church.. They have been visiting in the villiage trying to get the people started back to church. Don is going to get them a socker ball today as several have been asking. They promised to help keep the grounds clean if they could start a ball team. Hope that works out. Don fixed them a shower so they could bath without using a pan in a closet. Arnesto and Gallo have helped with the move and the water.problems. Dennis and Debbie helped visit in the villiage and Dennis worked on the computors here. They were a great help to us. Last Sunday their were eight children . This Sunday 9 children. At night there are several boys that hang around the church. But they don't enter. San Lazaro Church had service their last night trying to encourage Manwell. The house was full. The Praise Team was their but didn't preform. Their was a terrable wreak Sunday. They were 11 people in the back of a truck all were hurt . Four are still in the hospital one very seriously. They were hit by a drunk driver that hit them even though they were in the ditch on the other side. They were all police, two were killed a man and a woman. The other lost a eye and has head injuries . The people in the truck are kin to everyone here some of them were children. Don gave them the van and gas money to go to the hospital. They had to collect money from the family and friends before the hospital treats them. While one was bleading to death the family was having to collect money. We dont know how blessed we are. They didn't even give them pain medicine unless the family gave them money first. They don't have it at the hospital . They have to go and open the drug store!
If there is anyone the Lord lays on their heart for August Pine Ridge . There is great needs their . The Church needs a new cost of paint inside and out, Window fixed, New doors .We need HELP . Maybe a team can come and donate their money and time for this. Also the house needs a new coat of paint on the out side and its roof leaks when it rains. Please pray about this
Saturday was a special day for San Hill Church they had their first Fund Raiser for their new Church. It was celebrated by singing all evening and all kinds of food. The plans for the New Church were in a place of honor. Claudio gave a great speech about the church. I could see the Fish swimming on the little lake and the Bridge with its raised arches. The windows that overlooked all the beauty of the lake' The raised ceiling and yes the cross that is mounted on its roof. Their was a church made to put money in. It glittered as a becking call to those who wanted to be a part. Its only the beginning for Sand Hill. If ever a vision could be given then It should have been given. Then the people bowed in prayer as Claudio and Don prayed for its beginning!! Praise the Lord.
There is little time for myself and Don. There are people here all the time. They say they don't wont us to be lonesome and go home. So when the company goes the children and adults come to visit. It is good to feel so loved. They have gone out of their way to make us feel loved and wonted. I am greatful for that. Thanks for the e-mails keep them coming they are a blessing to us.

Don's Brother Death

August 1
We started out the day with some sad news Don’s brother Billy passed away in his sleep about 3:00 this morning . He had been sick a long time and we were not surprised. We are so thankful that we were able to spend time with him just before we left and say our good-bys. God has been so gracious to us. He knew the Lord and died in peace. Please pray for the family. We will not go home at this time.
