Belize Annual Conference
Annual Conference 2006
Well conference is over everyone was here but one pastor, Bro Santo and he was in Honduras and for some reason didn’t make it back in time. Rev. Claudio Leal stepped down as Annual Conference President and Rev. Donovan Grinage was unanimously elected the new Annual conference president for the next two years. We are sure he will make a good president and we are looking forward to working with him and his wife Lisa.
It was a good conference the Spirit of the Lord was in control. It was well attended and the food was good. Everyone took Communion in attendance and a promise to work together was made. A new sectary was elected, Mrs. Bank from Hattieville. I believe she will do a great job. Also a new treasure Bro Oswin from SandHill. There are some new faces in leadership places. We are expecting a great year. There is a Youth retreat planned in September in Hattieville. There is excitement about it among the Spanish and English People. We will do all we can to help carry people.
There was also a surprise for some of the people. Mariela Carrillo was given her pastors license and stationed at San Lazaro. She had been thinking about it for sometime. But decided it was time to make the move. She is the first woman pastor for the Belize conference. We are all very proud of her. Pray for her as she makes this step. Bro. Don will introduce her officially to the church tonight as their official pastor. Her family is proud and is standing by her.
We had a great time visiting with everyone and having company but we are worn out and need a rest for a couple of days. We will have a big day of catching up on things and cleaning after all the company. For the first time I have decided to have someone help with cleaning up after all the company. It will take a load off me.
I will post pictures tomorrow if possible. Pray for this conference and us. The Belize people read the comments from Rev Meggs about the confidence the people had in their annual conference Presidents. But he left out our newest conference BELIZE. And on page three Brother Bill Hearn in his comments about working together he said: and I quote “ in a Conference of many Churches covering part of four States” It would have been encouraging to the Belize People if he had included them in his comments. Each Church in Belize is given copies of the Methodist Protestant Faith and I am sure they read all of the articles printed. When writing articles Please include the Belize Conference.
