School Starting
Schools Starting
We spent the weekend after Conference at Caye Caulker and had a relaxing time. We have been very busy every since. Don, Galo and Ernesto have had a lot of things to do to get ready for school starting on Monday. They have been working and trying to finish the computer room at San Lazaro. It should be finished if nothing happens. They put the roof on San Hill the part of the building that had government tin. The tin is too light to stop the leaks. The teachers had workshop at Sand Hill so Don carried them from San Lazaro. It sounds like they had a good time. They have been working at Sand Hill the last two days and I think they will return tomorrow to finish repairs for the school.
August Pine Ridge had a Fellowship and Fund Raiser on Saturday. Guinea Grass, Fire Bun, San Lazaro and August Pine had Soccer Ball teams girls and boys and they played each other. They started out the day with singing from the Guinea Grass Band. It is always a treat to hear them. Bro. Santos preached and did a great job. He had been in Honduras for about a month. He went with relatives to a wedding of a niece there. It had been a long time since he had been there to see any of his family. . He had many things to share about the trip. There was a lot of good food for the people to eat that August Pine Ridge had prepared . The attendance was very good. There were about 50 young men standing out side of the grounds and sitting in the trees. They stayed all evening and watched and were very respectful. They aren’t allowed to play with the church because they tend to bring alcohol and drugs with them. I feel one day they will come and be a part of the church. And WOW what a ball team August Pine Ridge will have. The churches are planning more Fund-raisers in the future. We had a great time of Fellowship with the churches. There is also a Youth retreat planned by the conference in Sept. There are about 50 youth from the Spanish area planning on coming.
Bro Daniel invited us to Fire Bun Sunday to a baptism there. It was his first to do and he did a great job. It was a beautiful day by the river. As we sang Praise songs on the riverbank you could feel the presents of the Lord. . Afterward we were invited to eat tamales at the girls’ home. Bro. Daniel and his family were there also. We spent a while singing on the porch and playing a little music. We had a blessed time together. We then returned to San Lazaro and went to church there.
The Leadership classes will start up again this Saturday. We are looking forward to that. Continue to pray for our family and us as the Lord lays us on your heart.
